The Anointing

Acts 10:38 - "You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him."

1 John 2:20 - "But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things."
1 John 2:27 - "And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie; and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him."

Isaiah 61: 1-3 - "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners........to comfort all who mourn....giving them...the oil of gladness instead of mourning...."

Nugget of Gold: Just as there are different oils, there are also different anointings. There's an anointing to heal, an anointing to prophesy, an anointing of joy, an anointing to make wealth, an anointing to receive revelation from the Holy Spirit and to teach it to others.

Note: As I was taking inventory of the oils I have on hand, this is what I found:

• The Oil of Gladness anointing oil (Lily of the Valley)
• Five Oils of the New Season anointing oil (Cedars of Lebanon, Rose of Sharon, Lily of the Valley, Myrrh, and Spikenard)
• Frankincense and Myrrh anointing oil
• Kethubah Oil: A blending of fragrances of the Bridegroom, the Bride and the Spirit of God (Frankincense, Myrrh, Hyssop, Spikenard)

Prayer: Lord, teach us about Your different anointings so that we may walk in the fullness of what you have for us in this hour.
